Go Beyond Terrifying Wae Reno

Gambar
When you hear the name Wae Reno, what comes to mind is that the sand mining center is located on the border between East Manggarai and Manggarai Regency. Every travelers who cross the trans Flores route from and to the eastern part of Ruteng will certainly not escape the sight of this mining activity that is  gaping like a meteor hit. In fact, not far from this mining location, there is a paved farm road with a distance of about 200 meters as access to the rice fields of the Robo community and its surroundings. It was through this road that we discovered a hidden paradise on the outskirts of Ruteng City. This plantation land owned by residents measuring thousands of hectares holds a million charms that are very pleasing to the eye. In the warm embrace of the Mandosawu mountains, the abundance of water from the mountain, the fertile land of the former eruption of the Ranaka volcano, and the harmony of nature and culture that is so thickly felt when this plantation land becomes a mea

From Ende town it only took us 40 minutes to travel the 15km to Nuabosi village. In truth, it should only have taken us half the time, but we couldn't help pausing to enjoy the spectacular scenery on the way, the natural panoramas, the mountains trailing their verdant feet down to the sea, where jewel like small islands glistened in the warm sun, encapsulating the enchanting beauty of Flores.  Despite January being in the rainy season, the weather in the coastal town of Ende was so scorchingly hot as as we left, we felt we were living close to the sun, but this didn't last too long as we approached Nuabosi, some 800m above sea level. I was visiting with my sister in law Kaka An and on our arrival we were escorted to her Uncle's home where we found him helping in construct

Coffee drinking habit in East Manggarai is very well known with its “ Kopi Pa’it”  or drinking coffee without sugar. If you happen to visit your neighbors, do not expect to have sugar put into your cup of coffee, it is total black coffee that every host serves their guest. No day without drinking black coffee, that is a simple sentence to describe how much people consume “ Kopi Pa’it ”, in the morning after breakfast, during the day after lunch, and in the noontime. This is totally different from other places in Flores that coffee is usually mixed with sugar. For me drinking coffee without sugar is a true fascination. It not a matter of taste but community. It unites and just like most people saying life is begun after coffee. Sitting closer to furnace for heating the body in the morning before going for sunshine is my common activity before going to work. Sharing stories while keeping the woods fire is worth the time. source In Ntangis East Manggarai, almost all people spend the
